I'm OK, Elizabeth Hobbs

2019 begins with a bang

I am over the moon to share that I’m OK has been nominated for the BAFTA British Short Animation 2019, alongside Jonathan Hodgson’s Roughhouse and The Brothers McLeod’s Marfa. Stiff competition!

I’m OK also will be screening in competition at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in February, and with support from the British Council I will be attending to see the film screen in the Maison de la culture’s impressive Jean Cocteau theatre with more than 1,000 other attendees.

Good news for Richard Squires’ DOOZY, which screens in the Bright Future section of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) at the end of January. Later in the year we will be touring the film around the UK – more details to follow soon.

The concert premiere of Samantha Moore’s Bloomers and Elizabeth Hobbs’ The Flounder is finally here, with the first performance at ECLAT Festival in Stuttgart on 8 February, where all three of us and the films’ composers will be in attendance.

Chris Shepherd’s Brexicuted is now online for a limited time. Watch it while you can!

And finally, coming up on Sunday 27 January, I will be hosting ‘Animate Projects presents Untold Tales: going behind the stories‘ at LUX in North London, where the makers of the micro-animations Animate commissioned for Anim18 last autumn will give a bit of insight into their practice and the inspiration and processes in their films.

Happy 2019!
