Double whammy for Johnno’s Dead

Over the weekend Johnno’s Dead was awarded two prestigious festival awards: Best Animation at the 7th edition of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York, and The Shorts TV Award – UFO Competition at Brest European Short Film Festival, one of the largest short film festivals in France and in Europe. 

Writer-Director Chris Shepherd was at Brest to introduce the film at its screening and to then receive the award at the ceremony on Saturday 11 November, whilst I journeyed to picturesque York on Sunday 12 November to accept the fancy glass award and gold envelope on behalf of Chris and the team from Aesthetica SFF. It’s so delightful to have been selected out of so many engrossing and technically innovative shorts at both festivals. Many thanks to the juries of both festivals for choosing Johnno’s Dead!
