As he races against time, Jay is confronted by three Nudes and an enigmatic Professor. Will he dare to expose himself in order to find the clarity and connection he seeks? Developed with a community of Queer and intersectional life models and artists, Nude Triumphant encourages us to pause and reflect, discovering our unique identities and building a healthier relationship with time and with ourselves.
Directed by Leo Crane, written by Roy Joseph Butler, watercolour animation by Haemin Ko, Leo Crane and Aaron Jacob Jones.
The film premiered at FilmPride Online Film Festival 2020 and on Latest TV. In May 2021 the postponed Starkers Academy took place at Flatpack Festival online in 2021, featuring life drawing and a screening of the film, and as part of the I Matter exhibition at Babylon Arts.
Awards: Best Animated Short Film at Provincetown Film Society & Festival 2021, Best Fresh Air Award at Cambio International Film Festival 2021.
Nude Triumphant is produced by Animate Projects and Figuration, and is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
