The Flounder
Producer
One day a humble fisherman catches an enchanted fish. Can the fish help him, and his wife improve their lot? The Flounder is an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm tale ‘The Fisherman and his Wife’, with painted animation by Elizabeth Hobbs and an original score by composer Carola Bauckholt.
Created as part of the project ‘Happiness Machine‘, a production of Klangforum Wien.
Premiered at the ECLAT Festival in Stuttgart in February 2019 in a performance by Klangforum Wien, with the cinema premiere at Tricky Women Festival in Vienna in March 2019. In competition for the McLaren Award at Edinburgh IFF 2019.
Winner of Best Professional Film at Turku Animated Film Festival 2019. Winner of Best of the Fest and Best Sound Design at London International Animation Festival 2019.
