Winners at VAF Trebon
It’s great to be able to share the winners that were selected by the short film jury that I participated in this week:
Salvation Has No Name by Director Joseph Wallace and Producer Loran Dunn from Delaval Film in the UK. The jury were very excited about the potential for this epic animated folktale about xenophobia and faith.
“The jury felt that it was a very professional pitch with an effective teaser. The project presents contemporary issues in a classical setting with a strong story outline.”
Special Mention also went to Hurikán by Directors Jan Saska & Vojtěch Kiss, and Producers Alžběta Janáčková & Kamila Dohnalová from Silk Films in the Czech Republic. Saska is known for his darkly humorous short Happy End that has been well received on the festival circuit for the past year.
“This is an exciting new project from a proven filmmaker who is pushing forward his style and technique with this film. The project speaks not only of the hangover of the main character, or the hangover of the city, but the hangover of the world. We hope the team will be able to produce the film before the end of the world.”
